“Pay per click” advertising is another method to enhance traffic to your website. Pay per click is a very popular online advertising strategy and its popularity has made pay per click quite expensive for large and small businesses alike.

I personally like Google Adwords program more efficient tool to develop a market your products. I have used many other programs such as Yahoo’s Search Marketing and MSN’s publisher program and run many campaigns (Even at larger scale with daily budget of $5000 and over 30000 Keywords), no one even matches the ROI which Adwords has delivered. I strongly recommend Adword for any size campaign.

Buying clicks for keywords that a search engine will see first for your local business will bring you to a high ranking on search engine results. If you provide a specific service that is a popular business (flower shop, for example), you will want people searching for your “flower shop” business in your local area to retrieve your information when searching in Google, Yahoo, Msn or other search engines.

Search engines now operate on ‘pay for click’ in a geographical location. Targeting your area with ‘flower shop’ if you live in Florida and you want to bring in business in Florida will yield better search results for potential clients and your business if you bid on the keyword ‘flower shop’ for your geographical location.

Small businesses may have a difficult time affording pay per click advertising. However, this helps create viral marketing strategies, word-of-mouth and eventually profit for your business.

Pay per click advertising gives you control of where you would like your website to be placed on different search engines. Pay per click indicates that advertisers only pay when a customer clicks on the link.
