PR Updates 2007 – Now Google may burry the laggards and create new winners.

Recent PR updates create lot of controversies and insecurity amongst webmasters across globe. The fluctuating PR raised many questions about technology. But no one is sure why Google Slap happens to many sites. Is that text link ads or something else?

This update gives me more strength and confidence in Google Technologies. Google is not unpredictable, all one need to apply common sense why the system is fluctuating. All has been done to prevent use of Google technology by spammers and link farm owners. (IMO)

My observation is different, I doubt if Google will ban Internet Advertising Business. I am still sure Google is going for quality rather than quantity. They are not yet done but still working on it to identify the difference between the link farms and websites that follows Google Webmaster Guidelines. Time to wakeup and do something good for internet. I have compiled the small list of my thoughts for which I am searching an answer.

Unanswered Thought #1. Andy Beard reported a list of notable websites which has lower PR Values. I took note of one website called CopyBlogger run by Brian Clark indeed has high quality contents but received a penalty of lower PR value from PR 6 to 4. This forces Brian to switch from Google Business model, Read the post here.

What I see today Copyblogger gain to PR 7 , At least Google is not that much Evil . This is a confirmation signal from Google that quality will win over quantity. Maybe CopyBlogger’s PR was caught in the middle of updates or by that time complete tool bar Data was not exported to the system.

Unanswered Thought #2. How Google will take up blog spams thats question which is yet to be answered. people are creating blog link farms solely for the purpose to gain link juice for their parent website. I am not here for blame and shame game, so I am not publishing their site and spams.

I have came across a fairly large outsourcing company in India which use to create multiple keyword rich blogs on wordpress, blogger and other free blogging platforms. They have even copied the articles and contents from their competition websites and added an anchor link on every possible keywords with their website. Many of the contents are copyrighted by relevant site owners which should not be reused at all.

I am not talking about articles from free article directories. Apart from this site has many Sub-domains which are used to target individual keywords related to outsourcing. Now the site has a lower the PR value dropping from PR 6 to PR 5, still lot of corrections to be done as site is still having a strong PR value.

Unanswered Thought #3.
What will be the fate of automated blog network. All they do is scrapping the feeds and create a similar post. Some go ahead and recycle the contents using any content manipulation software to create a network of splogs. These should not be treated at par with quality network like Engadget and Techcrunch. Why these networks received a lower PR value penalty?

I observed that Google will not slap penalty solely on the basis of advertising, but their are several more reasons. All Google wish to kill spam and unethical use of technology provided by them. They are not killing the competition or internet advertising or legitimate affiliate marketing. All they are identifying the new age link farms and penalizing them to prevent misuse of their most popular Page Rank Technology. This is one good reason why this is a fluctuating system, as it makes a link seller will become very much unstable offering any services.

Site owners should be educated enough to manage their internet identity. They should identify and avoid the Half SEO or an SEO company that insists spammy techniques. They should not take risk as one wrong decision may cost them.
