Have you twittered today?
If you’re like most bloggers out there who love jotting down bits of details they can scrape up from every website they hop on, then you’re sure to love twitter. And if you’re the type of person who loves getting quick information, to use on your blogs, from different websites without going through all the unnecessary clicking or selection of categories or even the finding of pages, then you’re sure to find RSS or Really Simple Syndication an excellent tool.
A few of the most important things for a blogger, especially a technical one, is to be able to acquire information in a quick and convenient manner, and to be able to spread that information across different websites without facing hassles. There are thousands of tools online which you can use to achieve this.
For getting information from different websites there’s the RSS or Really Simple Syndication platform. Many websites today syndicate their data in a well-organized structure which can be easily viewed by RSS readers. RSS allows for bits of the main article or content, from a certain website, to be available in a short-excerpt format, and can be viewed or displayed on different pages online.
For example, you can get the latest information about the weather or the latest details about sports tournaments or even the financial market. Instead of drowning you with pages of articles, RSS selects only the most relevant information, based on whatever data you want to find online.
RSS then organizes structured sentences which may contain links to the original article. These RSS feeds are being used already by several bloggers online to aid in their marketing effort, or plainly just boost up their readership.
Another excellent tool that has been making the rounds over the internet is Twitter. The name should remind you of early mornings and chirping birds. But the tool is totally different.
Twitter is not for making sounds, and it’s not computer software that will allow you to re-create the twittering of birds.
Twitter, is a text-based system which allows you to pass on short messages from one website to another. Bloggers find this tool a very addicting one, as they can jot away what they are doing in front of the PC, at the moment, and submit the information to appear on their blog or other websites which they have allowed to view or subscribe on their twitter data.
Twitter also uses RSS. Twitter is excellent for online diaries or journals. After visiting a website or two, and if you find something nice about those websites, you can immediately type or key-in what you’ve found on your twitter application and submit to the twitter server.
The short text you’ve written will then be submitted to different websites which have subscribed to the RSS data from your Twitter account. It’s really that simple.
RSS and Twitter are two of the excellent online applications which bloggers can utilize to help increase their proficiency in gathering and spreading information.
