Selling Yourself through your Social Network Profile

Do you have a Myspace or Friendster account? Are you constantly updating your social profile, keeping friends on tab, and adding pictures and other important information about yourself, when you have the time?

For some people keeping an online social profile can be a very fun activity. Constantly communicating with your friends or high school batch mates on social networks can sometimes be really worth signing-up on it. Some people also use social networks to chat with their loved ones, meet new friends, or build new relationships. Online social communities offer plenty of applications to help you connect with other people.

Social communities provide blogs on user accounts that can allow you to post rants or share some cool new information which you might have discovered at school or at work. Social communities are also the perfect venues for debates and forums online. Start a discussion and slowly see many feedbacks appear coming from different people from around the globe.

Social networks are also the perfect locations for family reunions. With the cost of travel, from one country to another, going higher these days, many people resolve to just meeting their families or friends online in a very social, digital gathering.

Did you know that there are other great uses for your social network account, aside from your just meeting friends or building relationships? You can use your social profile to promote yourself, and your skills to different companies or organizations around the world.

If you’re good in website designs for example, you can build a nice template or layout for your social profile and show it to everyone. You never know, some company might just come across your designs and decide to hire you. Many web designers use their social accounts as storage for their website layouts or templates.

They keep their best designs public. And if you’re a web programmer, you can provide links to your web applications on your social profile. If your social community allows you to post scripts or web applications on your profile, then that would be an excellent way for you to market yourself.

Other people utilize their social network accounts to promote their products. Business entities are turning to the internet to market their goods, considering the lower cost and wider audience. If you’re selling perfumes or even ready-to-wear goods, you can market them via the internet and have them delivered on the doorstep of your customers.

It’s really convenient, not only for you but also for your prospects and clients. Several online auction stores also have a social community, and provide their members access to their product database. You can utilize this feature on auction social communities to promote your products or have them auctioned off online.

PS: Do you have a cat?  We are running Mouse of the month contest where all cats from Seocontest2008 can participate. If you love your cat send us her picture asap! Your cat may win exiting prizes at our Mouse of the month contest.
